Abstract

|
The Scrambler therapy is a new therapeutic modality for neuromodulation by “scrambling” pain information with “no pain” information, to eliminate or reduce the perception of pain intensity. Preliminary studies on the Scrambler therapy have highlighted a certain degree of efficacy in providing relief from refractory chronic pain and cancer-related pain. The objectives of this article are to introduce the Scrambler therapy and its basic strategies, and to review its efficacy based on its preliminary clinical data, narratively.
